STEEL DOOR
[CODE NO.4039]
Steel doors are not much used for residential projects and hence are in a bit of controversy. Most people do not think of putting up a steel door on the front door. The fact is that steel doors can be used for homes as well and offer a remarkable set of advantages.
It needs to be understood well that steel doors are installed between the interior and exterior areas. These doors are typically installed between garages and houses. These doors are also installed wherein there is a need of security or fire protection.
Steel doors are comprised of polystyrene core or polyurethane with a steel skin. A ‘stile’ – which is a wooden frame surrounds the perimeter of the steel door. Neither polystyrene nor polyurethane is visible on the edges of the steel door.
It needs to be well noted that – steel as well as most other metals are extremely good conductors of heat and cold. The polystyrene or polyurethane core is more like a thermal barrier. Reearch indicates that steel is much better at blocking unwanted heat / cold in comparison to wooden doors.
Most of the steel doors are known to be shipped with a factory-applied primer. Many other kinds of steel doors have an additional PVC vinyl layer attached to the steel skin giving a certain look and feel to the door. If at all a different color is needed for steel doors, these layers are not very easy to paint.
Steel doors provide the best of long-term value for commercial segment projects. Not al steel doors are known to be fire-resistant. Steel doors, in the case of a fire emergency, can handle heat levels for up to 20 minutes allowing much safety to the occupants of the building. At times, there exist buildings that deal with large amount of cash and inventory for which security is absolutely essential.
It is not easy to break down steel doors in comparison to wooden doors. Steel doors are known to prevent the uninvited and unauthorized access to the interior of the buildings. Steel doors are known to be bullet proof and chemical resistant. Steel doors do not require much maintenance. Steel doors offer the best of strength durability out of all the materials. The steel doors are known to be extremely strong and enduring.
While steel doors cannot warp, there are high chances that they can be hit by something and can showcase a dent. Steel doors are at a higher end of the price spectrum and have wonderful features of durability and resistance. Stainless steel doors offer a variety of practical as well as aesthetic advantages. These advantages include – attractive entrances, ease of cleaning, corrosion resistance, fire –blast-bullet and sound resistance, and much more.
Steel doors come in various styles and offer practical as well as aesthetic advantages. Steel doors are known to provide the best of traditional polished finishes, colors, textures and decorative raised designs. The selection of the steel door design is much dependent on the requirements of the customers, application procedures as well as service environment. There are various applications of steel doors such as those in office building and store entrances, private residences, decorative interiors, prisons, detention facilities, factories, storage facilities, and much more.
