LAUNDRY SOAP
[DFR/8255/EIRI]
The history of the soap making industry is unknown and one can not attribute specially the origin of its development. Initially when the so called `man made' cleansing and washing agents were unknown or their developments were not fully matured, the naturally occurring `chile salt peter' i.e. nitrates of sodium and potassium were used as the washing or cleaning agents. Later on with the upsurge of some scientific knowledge, the soap industry came into being which employed the naturally occurring animal fatty oil but due to the limited resources of it, it had to be abandoned and shift to the use of vegetable oils were undertaken.
