MATERNITY NURSING HOME

[EIRI/EDPR/1045] J.C.: 9689XL

INTRODUCTION

India  is a poor country. Government has facilitated free dispensaries, hospitals and health centers near and  around  all localities.    Though, the Government is spending a lot on  these hospitals,  dispensaries and health centers, the poor people  are not  practically,  getting  full advantage of  it.   The  reasons behind  all that are that there is sufficient corruption  in  our health  department.  Doctors are not faithful and don't  consider their responsibility.   Generally the costly medicines,  tablets, capsules  and  injections  etc.  are shown  out  of  stock  while actually these things are available there.  A poor person has  to purchase from the market. Continuously increasing negligence, a misbehave of  hospital and dispensary's staff and nurses force a patient to seek private treatment.   Good treatment of doctors and sisters can do 50%  or even more treatment of patients that is practically available  in private nursing homes/hospitals and this makes the general public to rush towards them.  A private nursing home works very good for his name earning and publicity. Nurses, doctors and other staff speak softly to patients.  This all is found totally nil in Govt. health centers, dispensaries and hospitals. There   can   be  seen  a  good  scope  for   more   nursing homes/hospitals which are privately owed.   The fast accelerating population  in  India  cause crowd on  roads,  and  thereby  more accidents  every day.  People fall ill due to improper eating  on odd  times.  Many a times, people in groups have fallen ill  died by consuming illicit liquor. A  nursing  home/hospital  can get more success  in  a  posh colony,  the important thing to be kept in mind to keep  a  close watch  over  the  activities  of staff  and  nurses  towards  the patients.  Another very important thing is to install sign boards at  surrounding crossings etc. to guide the way and address.   If possible, a big size twinkling tube light board is proposed to  be installed on the nursing home/hospital itself. Accidents, illness and sometimes psychological diseases have been a very common occurrences these days.  Every day we come  to know  of bus, train, car scooters and trucks etc.,  meeting  with accidents  serious  diseases  like  cancer  and  T.B.  etc.   are increasing day-by-day. In  the olden times, there were very rare accidents as  only oxen driven carts were the traveling medias then so, accident was a very rare scene.  Men were not much mechanized.   The life  was entirely peaceful.  People were mainly dependent on natural  life than  the artificial one.  Very occasionally he fell ill.  If  he had  fallen ill, there were old persons or `Hakims' who  used  to attend the patients and gave them treatment from the gift of  the nature.     Green leaves etc. wee the main medicines used by them and the treatments then rarely failed. As  the  mind  of the man developed, the  more  depended  on mechanized  general  life.  This type of life, on the  one  hand, accelerated his daily life, coasted him loss of lives or injury to one,  two  or  more persons.   On the other  hand,  of  different times.   These accidents in factories with machines and on  roads with vehicles, made the man felt the need of immediate  treatment to  an injured person or a seriously sick person.   the  affected atmosphere, which becomes, harmful by the gases and smoke left by various industries affects the general body's health.  Recently a big  accident in the city of Bhopal, took lives of  thousands  of people when a poisonous gas leaked from the gas tank. As  soon as the man started to be civilized, the felt  needs of  doctors due to increasing number of sicknesses and  accidents etc.   Hospitals with O.P.D. and wards facilities were opened  in big  cities.  The patients of the small cities and villages  were rushed  to these big hospitals when a doctor at the local  clinic or  dispensary was helpless to treat the patient, either  because of  his less knowledge, limited facilities available with him  at his  clinic or dispensary or because of seriousness of injury  or disease which needs an immediate operation etc.   It happened for many a times that while carrying a patient to nearby hospital for immediate  treatment,  the  patient expired either  at  his  home before  being  carried,  in  the way to  the  hospital  or  after reaching  the hospital.  The conveyance available was limited  on those  days and resulted to shift the patient, resulting  in  his death or taking much more time for recovery than a normal case.
