Detailed Project Report on flux oil manufacturing
FLUX OIL MANUFACTURING
[CODE NO.3933]

Flux oil is a kind of distilled hydrocarbon fraction with a higher boiling range than cutters. This oil is known to be designed well to flux road grade bitumen, so as to provide much longer term reduction in viscosity. Flux oil is known well to reduce the viscosity of the binder, forming a stronger bond for adhesion. It needs to be noted well that flux oil does not readily evaporate. At lower temperatures, lower viscosity is achieved in the case of flux oil.

The rate of evaporation of flux oil depends on the chemical nature of bitumen, application rates, ambient temperatures and humidity, binder film thickness and much more. Flux oil is not considered to be dangerous and is classified as a C1 combustible liquid. Flux oil is known to reduce the binder viscosity and easily coat the aggregate that does not readily evaporate. For the best of applications, the flux oil needs to be used at ambient temperatures, needs short term maximum temperature of 80 degrees, need long term storage temperature which is ambient and need maximum safe temperature of 100 degrees.

The use of flux oil is unlikely to produce any kind of health of safety hazard and needs to be used as recommended per good industrial standards and procedure. It is indeed important to understand the properties of flux oil, before it is put to use. The chemical composition and the application procedures need to be understood well, so that there are no inherent risks. Most of the times, efforts are made to use flux oil with reduced viscosity and efficient care. The lesser the viscosity, the better is the achieved adhesion.

As mentioned before, the use of flux oil is not considered to be dangerous in any way. However, it is important that the user uses it with due care after understanding its physical and chemical properties so that there are no chances of mismanagement at any time. The safety hazards and precautions need to be taken care at all times.

The chemical constituents of flux oil are mainly hydrocarbons and have typical applications in cold asphalts and pot hole repairs. With increased competition in the market, flux oil is available at highly economical prices and it is in the interest of the customer to completely understand all parameters before taking the purchasing decision of flux oil. The adhesive properties of flux oil need to be determined well before putting it to any kind of use depending on criteria mentioned prior. It is in the interest of the oil industry to maximize the applications and economical use of flux oil so that there are no further clauses for its use or any kind of associated applications. The constituent hydrocarbons need to be assembled well and manufacturing should be taken care of in the right way so that there are no chances of any kind of parameter being ignored. The combustion properties of flux oil are also worth noticing so that the properties are well listed.
