There were two or three small moulding companies which were fabricating items like bath tubs, helmets and corrugated sheets in the year 1960. In that period both resin as well as glass fibre were imported. In 1962-63, Bakelite Hylam Ltd., started producing fibre glass since then the fiber glass Reinforced Plastics Industry has made tremendous stride. As a matter of fact, modern composites owe's their genesis to glass-fibre reinforced polyester developmention the 1940's.
