INTRODUCTION
Electric water heaters provide a ready supply of hot water at not more than 85oC temperature. The water heaters have two sections: the internal water tank which stores the water to be heated electrically, and the external cover. A thermal insulation material is placed in the space between the two sections. Water is electrically heated and the temperature is thermostatically controlled. The normal capacity of electrical water heaters is between 25 to 200 litters. Electrical water heaters are installed in home, hotels, hospitals, restaurants and in other places where there is need of hot water for washing and cleaning.
Storage type of automatic electric water heater is one which incorporates a thermo insulated water storage tank in which water is electrically heated and the temperature is thermostatically controlled.
Instantaneous geyser in an equipment which heats the water instantly ready for use. The geyser is normally connected with two pipes one for incoming water supply and second one outlet for supply of hot water. This is called instantaneous geysers as hot water can be received instantaneously and the same is hot stored as in the storage type electric water heaters.
Storage type automatic electric water heaters are designed to provide a ready supply of hot water at a maximum water temperature of 85oC and they are available normally in capacities ranging from 6 to 200 litres. Most commonly tyes of heaters are 25 and 35 litres capacity. The power requirements for this type of heaters very between 1 and 5 kilo watts.
