Detailed Project Report on copper foils

 COPPER FOIL
[CODE NO. 5644]

Metals  other  than iron and steel are  desscribed  as  non-ferrrous  metals.  For example, Almunium, Bronze,  Copper,  Lead, Silver,  Zinc  & other precious metals.  Copper  is  the  perfect material for recycling.  It is valuable, ewasy to identify,  easy to  clean, heavy and can be of much use to  foundries,  melters,& other   non-ferrous  industries,  as  scrap.   Copper  has   many important alloy eg.bronze (contains copper, tin & Zinc) and brass (which   contains   copper   &   zinc   only).    To   discourage thefts, scraps are packed in oil drum & hammered the ends over.

Pure copper may include scraps from factories making copper products, usually they reclaim if themselves, but ends of  copper tubes used is domestic water systems & other buildings, prices of electrical machines, wire & power cable etc.

The  commercial  copper for industrial purposes  cover  lake copper, electrolytic copper & fire-refined copper.

Lake copper may be low-resistance or high-resistance copper. The low-resistance lake copper, used for electrical purposes, may be  electrolytically  or fire-refined. This copper  must  contain copper + silver content 99.9% or above.

High  resistance lake copper has its  resistivity  exceeding 0.15694 international ohm (meter, gram) at 20 deg C.  Its copper + silver + arsenic content is not less than 99.9%.

Electrolytic  copper specification are similiar to the  low-resistance  lake  copper.  Similiar to  the  low-resistance  lake copper.   Fire-refined  copper  , other than lake,  is  used  for rolling  into  sheets  &  shapes but it  is  not  acceptable  for electrical  uses.   It  is not acceptable  for  electrical  uses.  Fire-refined  copper for Wrought Products and Alloys,  calls  for the following analysis: Cu + Ag = 99.88% (min),As = 0.012% (max.) Sb  + 0.003% Max., Se + Te = 0.025% max., Ni = 0.05% max.,  Bi  = 0.003% max. Pb = 0.004% max.
