INTRODUCTION
The term `Plywood' covers a form of laminated xaves in which successive layers of veneer are ordinarily cross laminated, the care of which may be veneer or sawn lumberr in are piece several pieces. Bonding of wood with adhesive which generally is for more efficient than with mechanical fasteners has made possible a wide range of products and uses for which wood was not considered few decaddes ago. Plywood is a glued wood panel that is composed of relatively thin layers of plies, with the grain of adjacent layers at an angle to each other (usually 900) . The usual construction have an odd number of plies to provide of balanced construction. If thick layers of wood are used as plies, often two corresponding layers with the grain in direction parallel to each other are used. The outer pieces are faces or face and back plies, the inner plies are cores or centres and the plies are croisbands. The core may be vencer, lumber or particle board, with the total panel thickness typically not less than 1.6 m.m. or more than 7.6 m.m.
The term plywood designates a wood panel of three or more layers of vencers (plies) bonded together usually with the grain of adjacent vencers running at right angles to each other. When there are more than three plies the product is known as multiply.
