PETROCHEMICAL BASED SOLVENTS (EXPANSION PROJECT)
[EIRI/EDPR/4537] J.C.: 2754(20,000 Ltr), 2754(60,000 Ltr)
INTRODUCTION
Petroleum Based Solvents are a class of substance that dissolves a solute (a chemically different liquid, solid or gas), resulting in a solution. A solvent is usually a Liquid. The quantity of solute that can dissolve in a specific volume of solvent varies with temperature. Common uses for petrochemical solvents are in dry cleaning (e.g., tetrachloroethylene), as paint thinners (e.g., toluene, turpentine), as nail polish removers and glue solvents (acetone, methyl acetate, ethyl acetate), in spot removers (e.g., hexane, petrol ether), in detergents (citrus terpenes) and in perfumes (ethanol). The present product is Industrial Solvent which is widely used in Paint, Printing Ink, Glues, Cleaning and Degreasing, Automotive, Dyes and Pigments, Adhesives, Chemical Manufacture, etc. Solvents find wide applications in Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Oil and Gas Industries, Including in Chemical Synthesis and Purification Processes.
There are many classes of Industrial Solvents: those having aromatic content of 20% or less and those having aromatic content of more than 20%. Our present scope and interest is with the class containing more than 20% aromatic content which are commonly and commercially branded as ‘thinner’.
