Initial development of Medium density fiberboard (MDF) board took place in Germany during the Second World War when its timber supplies were practically cut-off from the supplying countries. Medium density fiberboard (MDF) board plants were set up in postwar West Germany to meet the demand for reconstruction. In the fifties Medium density fiberboard (MDF) board manufacturing plants were set up in Europe and USA. The industry has now developed throughout the world.
