Herbal cigarettes consist of finely cut Herbs, with certain other ingredients, rolled in specially manufactured paper. Their use has in recent years, increased considerably, particularly in urban areas, due to unharmful effect as compared to tobacco cigarettes. During 1934-35, the per capita consumption of cigarettes in undivided India was 20 the per capita figures in the different states being: Assam 44; Bombay 41; Baroda 39; Mysore 37; Hyderabad 30; Punjab 20; Bengal 19; Bihar, Orissa, Central Provinces, and Kashmir 15 each; and U.P and Madras 10 each.
They all are manufacturing tobacco cigarettes, which is causing health trouble to almost all smoker. Gradually now a days the environment is also being polluted with toxic smokes of cigarettes. That's why a new direction has been invented for the smokers to go for herbal cigarettes. Looking to the health factors the doctors, medicos are expressing great concern over the smoking of cigarettes. Though it gives a plenty of financial backing to the government of India, in the form of excise, customs etc. But side by side the health problem has risen to the peak.
So to get a best substitute this product has been launched by two small scale industries with Brand name "NO ASTHAMA" by one unit at Rajmundri, Hyderabad, (A.P), another one with Brand name "NIRDOSH” by MANS PRODUCTS INDIA, Hyderabad (Gujarat). But to meet the rapid progress present demand, a large scale industry has been thought up to cater to the need of nations smoker. So it is proposed to reduced the health problem and environment pollution problem with the consumption of herbal medicated cigarettes then to tobacco cigarettes.
