INTRODUCTION
For keeping good health, care of teeth is one of the essential step. The particles of food that stick to our teeth give birth to fouling smell & many dreadful diseases, which destroy the gums & results in tooth decay.
Fortuately, people have become conscious of tooth brushing. In rural areas mostly natural cleaning material like neem, charcoal are used. But in urban areas either the tooth pastes are used. It is preferred because it is easier & hygenic & gives more freshness.
Tooth paste is applied with the help of the brushes which not only clean the teeth also but rub gums & there are a variety of tooth pastes are available in market.
Basically, most of the Tooth pastes contain Calcium Carbonate precipitated chalk, (Natural calcium carbonate) with flavour & synthetic detergents added. Some of them contain one or more of the following ingredients. As astringents, antacid, deodourants and any of a number of medicating agents, such as sodium perborates menthol, calcium peroxide, quarternary ammonium compounds chlorophyll,ammonium phosphates diabasic ammonium phosphate & urea.They also contain preservatives such as methyle & for propyl ether of phydroxy-benzoic acid, benzoic acid etc.
